John and Peggy Shaw

We have been breeding and showing Beagles for 38 years and have bred or owned 135 AKC Champions including a multiple Best in Show winner and Group and Specialty Winners. We have been members of the National Beagle Club for over 20 years and members of the Egyptian Kennel Club for over 36 years. In 2007 we were the first recipients to be awarded the AKC Award for Outstanding Sportsmanship presented by the National Beagle Club. The medallion was presented to us at the National Beagle Club Awards Ceremony in Aldie, Virginia.

SPLINTER finished his championship in seven shows with four majors and two Bests of Breed over specials to become our 130th AKC Champion. He is now a multiple Group placer.

CHIME finished her Championship with 4 majors before she was one year old. She was awarded Best In Show Bred-By-Exhibitor Owensboro Kennel Club, Best Bred-By-Exhibitor in the four-day Kentuckiana Cluster, and was a 13" Award of Merit Winner at the 2002 National Specialty. She is now a multiple Group placer and she was Number 5, 13" Beagle for 2003.

At the 2009 National Specialty Chime won the 13" Veteran's class and an Award Of Merit.
